Unless you know me in Real Life, you probably only see what I share on social media (which isn't very much).
So here are 10 fascinating facts about me.
1.) I love to cook and bake. I recently began learning the art (and science) of sourdough bread, which has been an adventure. Bredward Cullen (my starter) is healthy and doing great, thank you!

2.) I've always loved reading and writing, but Robert Jordan was the author who made me want to write fantasy. His Wheel of Time series is in my list of "must read" books. Thinking about it... maybe that will be a post here soon.
3.) While I'm currently fixated on metal when I listen to music, I'm actually extremely eclectic. Right now, Taylor Swift's new album has a chokehold on me - her lyricism is unmatched.
4.) I'm a HUGE foodie. One of the best parts of living in New Jersey is the incredible diner scene. I've visited quite a few amazing diners, but my favorite (so far) is Mark Twain Diner in Union, NJ.

5.) I first met Cassandra, the owner and Editor in Chief at Quill & Crow, when she covered my maternity leave at a publisher I worked for. When they went under, she was gracious enough to offer me a place to edit and ensured I landed on my literary feet. I couldn't ask for a better friend!
6.) I left the site formerly known as Twitter when Elon Musk purchased it, and I refuse to go back (even though I miss my Writing Community friends that are still there). You can catch me on Instagram, Threads, and TikTok (sometimes) now.
7.) I don't mind the occasional beach vacation, and I'll never turn down a Disney trip, but I'm happiest when I'm near the forest or mountains.
8.) I crochet as a stress reliever. After years of focusing on wearables and cozy items like blankets, I've recently branched out into stuffed animals and cuddlers/lovies.

9.) When I edit, I read passages aloud to hear how they sound (this is actually super important). If it's dialogue, I do impressions for the characters. I recently edited a book where I read the main male love interest's dialogue as Kronk from The Emperor's New Groove.
10.) My characters are absolutely based off of people I know - but they're usually combinations of personality traits and descriptions from multiple people. I rarely share who my characters were inspired by, but you're always welcome to ask me.
Exciting News and Events
Not a lot is happening right now as I wind down edits on The Bone Key by Mary Rajotte, but I'm looking forward to moving onto my next editing project and finalizing the draft for Mistress of Night. I've also recently done some work on Visions of Decay and Betrayal, the first book in my upcoming The Lifeblood Seeds trilogy, which I'm co-writing with my husband! We're very excited for you to get to experience TLS and to journey back to Ship's Haven in Mistress of Night.
As always, dear Reader, thank you for spending a few moments of your day with me.
